Awstats and Webalizer used to be an ‘auto-activated’ stats system for Bluehost cPanel.
Not anymore.

Now, if you wish to track your webstats with Awstats or Webalizer, you will need to select the log program in cPanel. Only then the stats system will start tracking and counting on your webstats.
Look for the icon named “Choose Log Program” inside cPanel.
This function allows you to choose what stats programs you will use when viewing site statistics. Take a look on the figure at your right. You’ll come to this table after you click into the ‘Choose Log Program’. You’ll have to select the kind of program you want for each website hosted at Bluehost and then press ‘Save Changes’. Expect 1 – 2 day before you can start checking your web stats.
In a glance, here’s what you can get in these stats system.
- All of the statistical reports are updated every 24 hours.
- All of the bandwidth information is updated every 6 hours.
- If you wish to compare data from each statistics program you should only compare data that is at least 36 hours old to ensure that it has been updated and is providing the correct information.
- Please note these times are estimates, and are subject to change based on the amount of traffic on the server, and that you must have stats enabled in the Stats Manager at least 24 hours before any stats will be compiled.
- Analog Stats have been deprecated. If you currently have Analog Stats enabled, they will still function, but you cannot enable them for additional domains.

“Is it okay to host a forum using shared hosting plan?”
People like to ask me questions when they knew that I’m in web business. The question like above is one of the most that I answered, and the answer is yes.
Do not get scared by the word ‘forum’. Although running a popular forum (imagine massive comment moderation plus spam issues plus user management plus…) can be a pretty tough job for a newbie; starting of a forum on your website, however is very easy.
With the help of Simple Script, installing a forum software at your hosting can be done in no time

Take example of PHPBB installation, all you need to is to click on the icon, key in the details for your forum (like title and admin logins) and the system will creates the database and install the forum software on your server for you. The process is pretty straight forward and direct.
More over, there’re more than just PHPBB to be installed.

You can get PHPBB, BB Press, and PUN BB using Simple Script; get SMF and PHP BB using Fantastico – all these are available when you subscribe to ANY BlueHost hosting plan.
Advantages with hosting forum at BlueHost
The good thing about hosting forum at BlueHost is that the company offers unlimited disk storage and bandwidth transfer on their shared hosting plan. That means you can run your forum without worrying about the traffic surge on your hosting. With just $6.95/mo, you’ll get all the resources you need for hosting a popular forum.

Wanted to check on BlueHost server status?
Well, you can have a look on BlueHost server status now even if you do not have an account with them. There’s a useful tool provided by BlueHost to notify its server status at here.
How does the system looks like?

The system is designed to keep you informed of server outages. From here, you can view all the system alerts at BlueHost as well as specified servers for your own accounts. If you have multiple accounts, you may enter each one using this form, and status messages will appear for each account you’ve listed in the sections below.
How to add your account in the alert system?
By using this system, you can check status of the server hosting your website if you have an account with BlueHost. Adding your account to the monitoring list is simple. Login to BlueHost cPanel, scroll down and look for an icon named ‘Server Status’.

Click to activate. You’ll be directed to the server status page as soon as it’s done. A server status alert on your specified account will be showed at the bottom of the page, like this:

You’ll get instant updates on the server load as well as any service alerts from the screen.
